The Wolseley is located across the street from the Ritz Hotel, in a beautiful building. It has very vibrant and buzzy atmosphere, full with tourists and local business men. The best way to describe the Wolseley it is that it combines London heritage and Viennese grandeur.
I went there over the weekend for breakfast, without any reservation and was lucky to get a table after 10 minutes. I have tried the Potato Rosti with Avocado, tomato and poached egg. Well… the dish looked wonderful when i saw it served at the other tables but when i had it, it was cold, the egg was cooked- well done and the potato rosti was burned…. I can see that this dish is very popular and probably had it standing in a row, but i would have expected from it to be much more than it was! Don’t skip the coffee, which is excellent. It is rare to find an espresso so rich and fragrant that it tastes delicious without sugar.
The service at The Wolseley could have been a lot more better. I felt that the waiter had no patient, no smile on and if it’s one thing that makes a place different than the other it is without a doubt the SERVICE and here it was lacking and thats a shame.
It Might have been only my bad experience and most times the service is wonderful and the dishes are fabulous but that was my experience from my point of view.
